The Emerson Theatre is L.A.’s Latest Homage To The 1920s

By Doug Bleggi

When The Great Gatsby hits theaters in May, chances are a lot more people are going to be seeking out speakeasy-style club experiences. As far as Los Angeles is concerned, the new Emerson Theatre has that audience locked down. Located at Hollywood and La Brea, the new Emerson is presented by SBE who’ve souped up the spot with Roaring ’20s theatrics hoisted up further with a few subtle, modern twists like its mirrored-glass DJ booth, mood lights and grand staircase. Burlesque dancers, comfy couches and a swanky dance floor give the venue all the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood that will have you Lindy-hopping wall the way home.

The Emerson Theatre will be open Wednesday and Friday nights and is ready for speakeasy-nostalgists from all over to bring it back to the ’20s.
