By Leah Faye Cooper

A finely-crafted spectacle of explosives, UFOs and extraterrestrials, Cai Guo-Qiang: Sky Ladder offers a look into the New York-based artist’s unconventional approach to painting. director Anthony Cook and his wife, producer and editor Marina Cashdan, filmed Guo-Qiang in L.A. as he used fireworks to create his latest works for a show at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. The pyrotechnics are thrilling — as are the end results.
